# Multitake > Multitake is a practice and recording app for musicians, for Mac (beta), with iPad and iPhone to follow. Load a song and it separates it into four stems (vocals, drums, bass, other) on your device, detects the BPM, downbeat and metre, and writes a click track on the song's real beats. Then you record your part over it — audio and video, take after take. Nothing is uploaded: all processing runs on the device. ## What it does - Stem separation: four stems (vocals, drums, bass, other), separated on-device and written uncompressed at 44.1 kHz stereo. Mute a part and play it yourself. - Tempo and grid: finds BPM, first downbeat and metre; renders a click on beats, eighths, triplets or sixteenths; the downbeat can be nudged a millisecond at a time and the grid halved or doubled. - Recording: audio and video together, unlimited takes per song. - Effects: five presets (Flat, Voice, Acoustic, Amp/DI, Room) and an open chain — noise reduction, low cut, expander, three-band EQ — with a Bypass switch. - Video editing: multiple video tracks plus the take's audio channels on one timeline; split, duplicate, delete, align to the song's grid, export. - Chords and lyrics: chords detected from the audio and lyrics drafted from the vocal stem, both timed to the song and editable; can be burned onto the video for lessons. ## Availability - Platform: macOS 15 or later, Apple Silicon and Intel (universal). iPad and iPhone later. - Status: private, invite-only beta. Download is a 17 MB DMG; the app asks for an invite code on first launch. - Privacy: recordings never leave the device; no account. ## Pages - [Home](https://multitake.studio/): features and download - [Request an invite](https://multitake.studio/beta.html): the beta access form - [Contact](https://multitake.studio/contact.html): write to the developer - [Privacy](https://multitake.studio/privacy.html): what is kept and why - [Beta terms](https://multitake.studio/terms.html)
